The city of Salus has survived for more than a century after the Cleansing War that destroyed the Earth and made it near uninhabitable. They have survived on order, clear demarcations between the useful and less useful, and perfectly curated lies. But now, on the brink of a possible epidemic, the Governor’s carefully orchestrated system might come crumbling down when his Deputy’s important son comes of age, and starts to uncover the darkest secrets under the surface.

The H.A.L.I.X. Project
Previously published as Guardians of Salus under the name Anna Elizabeth Dubno, this work is now being reimagined into The H.A.L.I.X. Project.
After nuclear war left a ruined and broken world, the refuge city of Salus has managed to survive, and thrive. In a society where the young lead, the old leave, and two lines of families govern, the Citizens of Salus are safe and happy…. Or so they think.
Killian Thurston, son of the Deputy Governer, longs to find out who he is apart from his family, and make his dead mother proud. In his twentieth year ceremony, the Questus, he is chosen for a Career as a City Guard. Killian starts uncovering secrets about his family and Salus. Soon Killian has to question everyone and everything he ever thought to be true and must make the decision between fighting to protect those he loves, or walking away.
Adara Collins has been running from her past for a long time, keeping it hidden behind a wall of anger and purpose. Determined to start anew, Adara starts training as a City Guard. She soon realizes that the thing she thought would destroy her, may end up being the very thing that saves her.
“I want to be a phoenix, so I can burn to ash and be born again. Even if that means I have to be the one to start the fire.”
